Early in my life I knew I wanted to “work with people”. However I had no idea about how this should come about. In my youth I worked summertime in different wards in the local hospital. There I met Brita, a social welfare officer who listened seriously to me and told me vividly about her own career. It’s fascinating how a personal encounter can be so pivotal for important decisions in life.
My education in Social Work took place during the left-wing movements of the seventies. For me, coming from working class background with strong ideological values about solidarity and equality it was clear that social work was central.
I’ve worked as social-worker, psychotherapist and as counselor in home-supporting work, in psychiatry for children, youth and adults, in student healthcare, family counseling. I also worked in Saint Luke organization.
